Why are energy efficient windows so important?

You’ll probably know that the amount of energy we waste is directly linked to climate change. And you’ll definitely know how much it costs to heat a home. But you may not be fully aware just how much difference the type of glass used in double glazing can have on the energy efficiency of a home. And not all double glazing is the same. Doesn’t all double glazing save energy?

Pilkington energiKare™ is twice as energy efficient as standard modern double glazing. The Window Energy Rating scheme has been put in place to help make choosing windows easier for consumers. It’s a similar system that is applied to washing machines, fridges, freezers and light bulbs and so on. Basically if a window is rated C or above it may apply to be part of the ‘Energy Saving Recommended’ scheme. Windows containing Pilkington energiKare™ are all rated C or above.
